Soooo, How Long Does Klonopin Stay in Your System???
A question asked by a lot of Klonopin users. The answer really varies since every person is unique. However, Klonopin on average shouldn't stay in your system for more then 4 to 7 days.
I get a lot of questions about this one on my other website - http://www.klonopinwithdrawal.com - and really the answer comes in two parts. The majority of the questions are will it show up in my drug test that I take in XX days. If a person is taking a drug test for employment - the tests aren't designed to pick up on any Benzo meds. Also, the employer is looking for illegal drugs - even if you don't have a prescription for this - it will not show up.
However, I've read questions where people are on probation - not quite sure of that, but I guess they can have tests designed to pick up on Benzos where you would have a person that is supposed to be sober by court order - I can see such a test. I really don't deal within the legal realm of Klonopin or Xanax or any benzo drug for that matter.
The other set of questions I receive is about how long is Klonopin or Xanax effective before withdrawal symptoms set in. I personally have experienced withdrawal symptoms within three hours of taking a 1 mg dose of Klonopin. I talked to my doctor about this - he was surprised, saying that Klonopin should stay in my system for a lot longer. Well, it does. However, that doesn't mean it's going to be effective. Remember, these benzos can stay in your system for almost a week (depending on how much you take) but not do you any good as far as producing gaba within the brain - therefore, causing the person to feel "normal".
